This month’s selection was from the 6th shelf of authors with a last name of T. It was a little tricky because there were mostly books by Adriana Trigiani. While I am not familiar with her the fact that there are 15 books written by her on the shelf I have to assume she is a well-known author. I decided to go with a historical fiction pick. This month’s Random Read is The Hidden Thread by Liz Trenow.
From Goodreads:
When Anna Butterfield’s mother dies, she’s sent to live with her uncle, a silk merchant in London, to make a good match and provide for her father and sister. There, she meets Henri, a French immigrant, and apprentice hoping to become a master weaver. But Henri, born into a lower class, becomes embroiled in the silk riots that break out as weavers protest for a fair wage.
I avoided reading anyone else’s reviews on Goodreads and Storygraph and didn’t look into the author. I like going into these reads completely blind and open to the story. Read my full review of Hidden Thread.
The other books in the photo are the rest of my hopefuls for May. I have really been looking forward to Hell Bent by Leigh Bardugo and I have this fantastic Illumicrate edition. I am also planning on reading my Book of the Month pick from April Romantic Comedy by Curtis Sittenfeld. Finally, there is Stuart Little (that choice will be explained in a future post so stay tuned!
